The following individuals have been gracious enough to serve on the Donald Heiter Community Center Board of Directors:
The Board of Directors is responsible for the governance and continuation of the Donald Heiter Community Center. Our Board is organized into three operating bodies, Executive Board, Standing Committees and Ad Hoc Committees. Board members are assigned to one of the operating bodies based on interest, skill and commitment. In addition to committee work, all Board members are charged with both formal and informal responsibilities. Formal responsibilities include but are not limited to: hiring (and if necessary) firing the Executive Director, delegating the organizations management functions, developing and implementing a strategic plan, assuring the continuity of the DHCC, and maintaining the governing body and process. People elected to the Board should plan to attend every Board meeting, the first Monday of each month at 7pm. Meetings usually last one hour; however on occasion and when necessary, meetings may be extended to two hours. Each Board member is also assigned to serve on a committee; therefore, he/she should plan to work at least an additional four (4) hours per month on committee initiatives. Overall, we estimate that Board members allocate approximately five (5) to ten (10) hours per month to meet their Board and committee obligations.
Board appointments are for a minimum of three (3) years.
